Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson is a Mexican-born musician born into a family of musicians. The music she grew up with was the old and classical boleros as well traditional romantic, ranchero and romantic ballads. Ana loves Tangos, opera and any form of dramatic performance. She was taught by her mother to sing, and she began more intensive vocal training by Flavio Belcerra in the age of 16 when he was a renowned Mexican opera tenor. Her musical education continued at the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterward to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. While a young student and professional, she was a part of many chamber groups and opera choruses in Guadalajara as well as Mexico City. In the years following her relocation into California in United States in 2000, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before making the move to her current place in southern California. She performs solo Latin American music for private occasions and is a part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. She's involved in numerous local initiatives, both as an educator and performer because of her passion for art and music. Ana has also been a former member of Community Chorus of Redlands as and members of the Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged to be able communicate with other people her enthusiasm for traditional Latin American music. She is hoping that it will encourage younger generations of musicians to keep the tradition in the present.
